Think of martial arts as a form of physical communication, to learn to communicate in a western language; one would first learn the alphabet, its sequence, the pronunciation of each letter, where it would fit into each word and then possible alternate words as one’s vocabulary increases.

Muk Yan Jong or Mook Yang Chong “Wooden Dummy”
The fourth of the Wing Chun Kuen forms is Muk Yan Chong and is only taught to Expert level students. This form is only learnt having a good understanding of the 3 previous forms.
That being said, it is also an essential training tool that helps develop all the aspects of Wing Chun Kuen skills, including short-bridge power, correcting the position of the tool and transition of technique.
It also strengthens and toughens your limbs in readiness for contact. Students of all levels can use the dummy as a training aid to perfect their individual techniques and tools.
